The impacts of IT on communities

The impacts to communities are if there is something happening like an event in the community then people can learn about it on social media,

-Local businesses might lose business if they don't have a website because some people may only shop online because they may be able to get a better deals because the local business may not be able to give a larger discount than bigger businesses,
Businesses may lose/gain customers if they posts reviews of the place online so other people will see it an they may make up there mind because of the review.
what will happen to a local business that does not have access to IT if they live in a rural place the internet connect will not be that good so how will they compete with other business online

-People that work at the banks may lose there jobs because the banks will not need to hire that many staff to help people that come into the bank if more and more people are using online banking they only need to check there balance then go to a cash machine.

  1. Businesses getting reviews from their customers can either be good for business or a disaster, especially if the review is bad and has been done maliciously. Have you seen stuff in the media about people giving bad reviews to hotels and then the hotel fights back and gets the review removed?

  2. im sure that there has already been cuts in the banking industry due to online banking, could be a sign of things to come. paper notes may even become a thing of the past with everything going digital.

    1. I think paper money will be around for some time yet, but it does look like it's heading towards digital
