Potential threats posed by IT

-People might get there personal data stolen like bank details, passwords, if you are not careful when using the internet or social media - if blog authors choose to make others able to write on their blog they will need to make sure that the stuff being posted is not illegal

-Cyber-bullying/Online Harassment can happen online on social media, there are report buttons on most website were you can report anyone for Cyber-bullying

-Spam can be sent to your e-mail and can contain viruses or malware that can disrupted your computer most e-mails can sent spam and put it in its own sub-inbox called spam to keep it separate from non-spam e-mails that go into your inbox

-Viruses can damage computer but anti-virus software can protect your computer

Because of the internet information can be released to millions of people all over the world, this information can be helpful, but sometimes the information can be dangerous like people hacking in to twitter accounts and releasing personal information of soldiers (like what happened to US CENTCOM twitter) or other people leaking uncensored government documents that could put peoples life's in danger.

People may post information that may be illegal to post; the information may fall under the Data Protection Act so you will have to be careful what kind of information you post.

The impacts of IT on communities

The impacts to communities are if there is something happening like an event in the community then people can learn about it on social media,

-Local businesses might lose business if they don't have a website because some people may only shop online because they may be able to get a better deals because the local business may not be able to give a larger discount than bigger businesses,
Businesses may lose/gain customers if they posts reviews of the place online so other people will see it an they may make up there mind because of the review.
what will happen to a local business that does not have access to IT if they live in a rural place the internet connect will not be that good so how will they compete with other business online

-People that work at the banks may lose there jobs because the banks will not need to hire that many staff to help people that come into the bank if more and more people are using online banking they only need to check there balance then go to a cash machine.

Individuals that don't have access to the IT

People that don't have access to the IT can miss out on quite alot of things and find it harder to do certain things because so much stuff has to be done on a computer,

-like the job-center is now all done online so if the person does not have a computer they can not search for jobs so they would need to go to a library or a friends house to use the computer.

what will happen to people that do not have access to IT if local shops start to become online only, or if the bank closes the local branch, these people will be greatly effected because they may live in a rural area so they would need to travel to use the bank or go shopping.

Individuals use of IT

IT has made it easier for individuals to be able to do certain things like shopping, banking and communicating with others.

-For instance on your home computer or smart phone, you can check your bank balance which can save you time because now you don't need to go to the bank,

-You don't have to leave your home to go shopping because you can use online websites to order things and then have them delivered to your front door,

-IT has changed how individuals communicate with others because now you can talk to your friends using social media like Facebook and also talk to people using Skype or similar messaging services,
I think this can make people a bit anti-social but it can be really good to contact friends that may live far away.

-It is easier to get news faster through the use of social media and news websites,
Because of this I think that people can get a very one-sided view of the situation, do you think that that newspapers will eventually become online only or do you think they will continue to print copy's of the newspapers.
